Who we work with
Four kinds of clients, all the time.
The work below is what we know well. We don’t try to be everything to everyone — if your situation doesn’t fit one of these, we’ll point you at someone who can help.
Sole traders
Self-employed, one trade, mostly Dublin.
Tradies, designers, consultants, therapists, tutors, freelancers of every kind. Most have one source of income and a few simple expenses.
Common situations:
- Just started self-employment and need to register with Revenue
- Got a letter from Revenue and aren’t sure what to do
- Behind on a year or two and want a tidy-up
- Trading well and want to know what tax to put aside
How we help
- Self-assessment tax return (Form 11)
- Bookkeeping review in Xero or QuickBooks
- Quarterly tax estimate so there are no surprises in October
- Dealing with Revenue on your behalf
- Year-end planning — pension and expenses
Contractors
One director, one limited company.
Limited companies in IT, engineering, pharma, consulting, project services, and the like. Typically one director, occasionally two. The work is the day-to-day running of a small company that pays its director through PAYE and dividends.
Common situations:
- First year of contracting — setting up the company and the right pay structure
- Between contracts and worried about cash
- Coming up to year-end and not sure how much to draw
- Considering incorporation or a move from a PSC structure
How we help
- Year-end accounts, CT1, and director’s self-assessment
- Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation
- Director payroll and dividend planning
- VAT returns where registered
- Companies Registration Office filings
- Year-end tax planning and a salary recommendation
Small limited companies
Owner-managed, with a few staff.
Limited companies with 1–10 employees, usually a director-shareholder plus a small team. Could be services, retail, hospitality, light manufacturing, or anything in between.
Common situations:
- Growing and taking on the first employees
- Behind on management accounts and need a clearer picture
- Need help with a PAYE audit or a Revenue query
- Wanting more than year-end accounts — ongoing visibility
How we help
- Statutory accounts, CT1, and director’s personal tax
- Monthly or quarterly management accounts
- VAT, payroll, and the Revenue submissions that go with them
- Companies Registration Office filings and changes
- Pension scheme for staff if needed
- Ad hoc advice on hiring, pricing, year-end planning
Landlords
One property, or a small portfolio.
People renting out one or a few residential or commercial properties. Either as a side activity, or as a deliberate part of their income. We don’t manage the tenancies — we look after the tax.
Common situations:
- First rental property and not sure how to declare the income
- Buying a second or third property and need a tax read on it
- RTB registration, pre-letting expenses, mortgage interest
How we help
- Self-assessment including rental income
- Pre-letting expenses claim
- Working with your letting agent or managing it yourself
